Project Description:

The Esplanade is a mixed use development with retail, commercial and residential land uses on an 11-acre site located between US Route 4 and the Hudson River in Saratoga County. The project will redevelop the former Empire Warehousing site located in an industrial zone of the City of Mechanicville and Town of Stillwater. The project will create a unique environment for people to live, work and play along the historic Hudson River. The “Towne Center Park” area near the center of the site and the “Riverwalk” area will provide centralized community open space areas for the neighborhood residents to congregate and enjoy the scenic vista. The project will also create new public space and enhanced opportunities for the public to enjoy the riverside, and will link with the County-wide efforts to promote area-wide walking and biking trails. Infrastructure improvements include all site related water and sewer, as well as significant retaining walls, a sanitary sewer pump station and the relocation of an existing drainage box culvert.

• Design of structural retaining walls

• Stormwater management and erosion control
• Off-site transportation improvements
