Queensbury resident Jack Usher has been spotted taking his own pictures of the roundabout construction since the project started.

He said, "Basically what I wanted to do was see what it looked like before they started it, and then as they were progressing, take a few shots so that at the end I would have Day 1 until now it's open for business. Let's drive through it. It's all right here in this little camera. I take six to eight shots, one day, every week since they started."

He said he'll put them all in an album, as a way to document some of the history of Glens Falls.

"I was born and raised here, went to school here. After I got out of the service, I came back here and I've seen all the changes over the last 40 plus years," said Usher.

The roundabout is a major change for downtown, and everyone will be able to come out and see how it works when it officially opens to cars this weekend.

Creighton Manning Chief Inspector Frank Gates said, "Everything's on schedule, and we're really excited to open up Sunday."

Gates also reassures people who have doubts about the roundabout and said the only vehicles he can foresee having a problem are wide-load trucks, but not tractor trailers.

"Everything as far as a legal standard load will have no issues," said Gates.

As for Jack Usher who's been documenting the whole thing, he may not be the first to drive around the circle -- but he's already planning to come see the final result.

"I am going to be one of the first ones to drive around on Monday, just to prove my point," said Usher.

If you'd like to try it out, it opens this Sunday after 3 p.m.
