Project Description:

The project entailed the preparation of a rehabilitation and development plan for the Schenectady Intermodal Station for the Capital District Transportation Authority. The project included design for a substantial upgrade of the existing Amtrak Train Station and project site. The Schenectady Intermodal Station is envisioned to include intercity trains, connection to local buses, taxis, car parking, and pedestrian and bicycle accommodations.

Firm Role:

Creighton Manning Engineering was responsible for the environmental assessment for the project in accordance with SEQRA and NEPA. Creighton Manning assisted with the evaluation of the multi-modal accessibility of the study area including transit accessibility and the quality of inter-modal connections. Creighton Manning was responsible for the traffic and pedestrian circulation study as well as a parking study. The safety and operation of adjacent street intersections for both motorists and pedestrians and the adequacy of parking supply were all analyzed. Creighton Manning also provided the land surveying services and civil engineering for the detailed design of the site reconstruction.
