Marlboro Hamlet Area Transportation Plan
Project Highlights
Project Description:The Town of Marlborough, the Marlboro Hamlet and the Ulster County Transportation Council (UCTC) initiated the Marlboro Hamlet Area Transportation Plan to build upon the needs identified in the Ulster County Transportation Council’s Year 2030 Long Range Transportation Plan. The Marlboro Hamlet Area Transportation Plan identified and evaluated potential land use and transportation improvements that focus on pedestrian/bicycle accommodations, traffic operations, economic vitality, and preserving the historic character of the community. SYNCHRO models were developed to analyze traffic operations at the signalized intersections in the corridor. Recommendations included roadway and intersection improvements, access management improvements, parking recommendations, pedestrian/bicycle accommodations, aesthetic enhancements and land use policies. The Plan can be used as a reference document and stepping stone to implement guidelines, policies and specific actions to support and enhance the character of the Hamlet while providing a safe and attractive environment for all users as development occurs. Firm Role:Creighton Manning Engineering was responsible for the overall project direction, traffic engineering, technical analyses, visioning and project deliverables. After completion of the project, the Town Supervisor wrote, “We were very impressed with your ability to work with a diverse group of people and bring them to consensus.” Client:Ulster County Transportation Council244 Fair Street Kingston, NY 12402 Reference:Dennis DoylePh: (845) 340-3340 |
